Green light for 1,000-home Mount Anvil London scheme

A London borough has approved plans for the demolition of a 225-home housing association estate and its replacement with nearly 1,000 new homes.

Friary Park regeneration will see four housing blocks built ranging from 14 to 24 floors

Ealing council has given the go-ahead for housing association Catalyst and Mount Anvil’s 990 home scheme in Acton, west London.

Subject to section 106 agreements being signed, work could start next year on the Friary Park estate regeneration.

The scheme designed by Levitt Bernstein will include four new tower blocks ranging from 14 to 24 floors.

The scheme is planned to deliver 45% genuinely affordable housing, including 237 social rent homes and 28 London Affordable rent homes.

The plans will also see a significant increase in the amount of green space on the estate with residents having access to private balconies and terraces, podium gardens, play trails and a new and improved multi-use games area and community centre.
